Driftless Winds is a highly-active reed trio comprised of oboist Dr. Galit Kaunitz, clarinetist Dr. Corey Mackey, and bassoonist Dr. Jacqueline Wilson. Together they present recitals, masterclasses, and educational concerts across the country, including performances in Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Tennessee, and Wisconsin. Driftless Winds have been featured performers at numerous conferences and chamber music festivals, including the 2016 International Double Reed Society Conference, the 2016 College Music Society National Conference, the 2017 College Music Society Great Lakes Conference, and a residency at the Avaloch Chamber Music Institute.

This group seeks to expand the reed trio repertoire via commissions, transcriptions, and the discovery of under-performed works. In 2015, they collaborated on a series of commissions of new works for reed trio with composers Chia-yu Hsu (Voyages), Brian van Winkle (An Incomplete Story), and Rachel Devorah Trapp (imparpripyt), which they premiered in Columbus Georgia at the 2016 International Double Reed Society Conference. Additionally, the members of Driftless Winds are passionate music educators and present outreach concerts to music students of all ages.
